Keeping up with the latest technologies and performance is an absolute must. That is why we invest substantial amounts annually in optimizing our infrastructure. They recently put a new octa core server into service.
Anyone whose mail has been migrated to this server may get pop-ups in their mail program. This is because the encryption is now much stricter than it was on the old servers. We are happy to list the new settings.
Incoming IMAP and SMTP mail server
These are the general email settings for email accounts at Expertmedia. SSL is required to use these settings.
For both the incoming and outgoing server, always use: mail.yourdomain.xx
Email Ports
Let's take a look at the gates:
IMAP
It Iinternet Messay Aaccess Protocol synchronizes all email with the mail server.
- Gate 143: The default port without an encrypted connection. It is not recommended to use this port not more to use.
- Gate 993: This port is suitable for an encrypted IMAP connection. This is safe and also recommended to use.
SMTP
It Simplement Mail Ttransfer Protocol is intended to be able to send e-mail.
- Gate 25: This is the standard port for SMTP, this port is unsecured and therefore not encrypted.
- Gate 465: This port is suitable for a secure SSL connection and is therefore encrypted.
- Gate 587: This port is suitable for a secure TLS connection. This is another variant of encryption.
